Here's just an excerpt from my diary:
I finished the bike trip-
I didi it: 350 mile. I feel good to be able to
know that I can do anything
I put my mind to. God really wanted me to be on
the bike trip, I felt like
he called me to go, and I felt really needed, like
when PJ started out early
and Mr. S wanted me to make sure everyone in the
back was okay. On
the last day Mr. S's cousin said something so interesting
about God's economy -- we
came to the churches to give to them but we ended
up feeling like we received
so much, and the churches felt like they got so
much and gave so little.
In God's economy everyone receives. It's the same
in how I felt needed, as
much as I did add to the trip, that sense of being
needed was given to me because
God knew that was what was best for me. God's
plan works within everyone's
needs.
God also provided so much for us, Lauren and I did not even have our
testimonial all planned
out before the talks, and God gave us the words and
the ideas and it worked
out.
The group of people that went was so meaningful as well. I grew
closer to my sisters- I
love them so much. And my dad was able to come on
the last two days which
was great. I think the Hilgers also got a lot out
of the trip and we were
able to get closer to them as well, coaching each other
up the hills. Eric
and Kyle ... well are two of the awesomest people I know.
Jenn added to the
trip with her enthusiasm. I got to know Matt, and we got
to really talk on the last
night, which was cool. And the Sladkey tag team
of Mr. S and PJ was well....inspiring
to say the least.
The trip was amazing, thanks to Jesus and everyone who gave of
themselves to make it happen.
